RE: APPROVE FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 COLORADO WORKS ALLOCATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF EFFORT BID AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a State Fiscal Year 2002-2003
Colorado Works Allocation and Maintenance of Effort Bid from the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the
Department of Social Services, to the Colorado Works Allocation Committee, with terms and
conditions being as stated in said bid, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said bid, a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the State Fiscal Year 2002-
2003 Colorado Works Allocation and Maintenance of Effort Bid from the County of Weld, State
of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of
the Department of Social Services, to the Colorado Works Allocation Committee be, and hereby
is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said bid.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 24th day of April, A.D., 2002.

Bids should be based on a county's estimated need to provide funding for any or all
of the following (1) maintaining or expanding its Colorado Works Program or (2) for
transfers to its Child Care or Child Welfare Programs. Counties should not try to
anticipate what other counties may or may not be bidding when preparing bids. Each
county's actual spending level MOE will be commensurate with its allocation amount
(currently this is 14.65 percent.)

RE: Colorado Works Allocation and Maintenance of Effort—(Ma(MOE) Bid
Sheet for SFY02-03
Enclosed for Board approval is a Colorado Works Allocation and MOE Bid Sheet for
SFY02-03. This Sheet is at the request of the Colorado Works Allocation Committee
(WAC) to complete their work in the statewide distribution of Colorado Works Program
(TANF) funding.
A. Weld County's bid request is $4,131,996 with an Actual MOE amount of
$605,422.
B. The County's bid would provide funding to maintain its Colorado Works Program
and for transfers to child care and child welfare programs.
