COLORADO RE: Speed Reduction Zone and Stop Signs on WCR 65
Construction on WCR 65 between WCR 8 and State Hwy 52 is nearing completion. Due to the paving of
WCR 65, I am recommending that several changes be made to the existing signing. The changes are as
follows:
• The intersection of WCR 10 and WCR 65 is(currently controlled with Yield and Yield Ahead
signing on WCR 10. I recommend that these signs be replaced with Stop and Stop Ahead
signs.
• A Speed Reduction Zone exists in the southbound lane of WCR 65 and eastbound lane of
WCR 8 as you approach the school, which is located at the intersection of WCR 65 and WCR
8. No Speed Reduction exists in the northbound lane of WCR 65. I recommend that a Speed
Reduction Zone (55mph to 35mph) be established for the northbound lane of WCR 65 as you
approach the school. No speed reduction is required for the westbound lane of WCR 8 due to
an existing stopped condition at WCR 65.
