Weld County Board of Commissioners
915 10th Street
Greeley, CO 80631
Dear Commissioners,
We, the residents of Bluebell Avenue, wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for
your vote on Case #S612 Minor resubdivision of Etherton Subdivision which vacated the
road right-of-way at the south end of Bluebell Avenue. Because of you, we will be able to
continue our semi-rural lifestyle in a fast-growing urban area. For this we are most
appreciative.
Frank Hempen, Director/Public Works/County Engineer, deserves many accolades and
recognition for his dedication and hard work toward making this happen. He never
wavered in his positive attitude. His encouragement and help, despite obstacles and
sometimes discouragement, enabled us to realize that the goal to protect this
neighborhood's historical integrity was still attainable. He kept us informed, always
returned phone calls, and his commitment to this project was above and beyond anything
we could have expected.
Bruce Barker, Weld County Attorney, is to be commended for his legal expertise. As
unforeseen difficulties arose, his adroitness, promptness and guidance in handling these
issues was a determining factor in reaching a positive outcome. His support provided us
the incentive to continue to work toward our goal. Without his assistance, the outcome, in
all probability, would have been different.
We respectfully request that a copy of this letter be placed in Mr. Hempen and Mr. Barker's
personnel file.
Once again, our sincere thanks to each member of the Board for your thoughtful
consideration and vote to grant our petition to vacate.
Sincerely,
