FAX: (970) 304-6497 COLORADO May 30, 2002 CO LLC 11553 W C R 6 Fort Lupton, CO 80621 Dear Landowner: Under provision of the Colorado Weed Management Act(35-5.5-109 CRS)and Weld County Code, Chapter 15, Article II, this letter is to serve as notice that the presence of noxious weeds has been observed on properties which are owned, leased, and/or occupied by you and located in Section 24 , Township 1 North, Range 67 West of the 6`h P. M., in Weld County, Colorado. The property is designated in the Weld County Assessor's Office as parcel number 146924400028. The noxious weed present on the property is: Scotch thistle (Onopordum acanthium), and musk thistle (Carduus nutans). Because these weeds are nearing bloom stage, they must be controlled and kept from going to seed. Presently, the best methods of control are: 1) to mow as necessary throughout the year to keep the weeds from going to seed (3-5 times)and then spray with herbicides in the fall,2)to mow throughout the season to keep the plants from going to seed, 3) to spray with herbicides up to the early flower stage. Section 35-5.5-109,C.R.S. and Weld County Code, Chapter 15 requires you to control the weeds by using at least one of these methods. Please be advised that if you do not control or eradicate these weeds by June 10. 2002, I will ask the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County for permission to enter the property to use one of these methods of control or eradication at your expense,as provided in Section 35-5.5-109 (5a) C.R.S. and Weld County Code, Chapter 15. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding the control or eradication of the noxious weeds on the property. lam also available to assist you in developing short and long term weed management plans.
