RESOLUTION
RE: APPROVE CONTINUANCE OF HEARING FOR USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW,
DOG KENNEL - KAREN KEEL
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a Use by Special Review hearing was scheduled for
Karen Keel on May 16, 1984 , at 2 : 00 p.m. , as stated in the
Notice dated April 9 , 1984 , and published in the LaSalle Leader
on May 3 , 1984, and
WHEREAS, because only three Commissioners were present at
the hearing of May 16 , 1984, the applicant chose to continue
this matter to a date when all five Commissioners will be able
to be present, and
WHEREAS , the Board deems it appropriate to continue said
Use by Special Review hearing, requested by Karen Keel, to June
6, 1984 , at 2 : 00 p.m. , and that nearby property owners be noti-
fied of such continuance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Use by Special Re-
view hearing, requested by Karen Keel, be, and hereby is , con-
tinued to June 6 , 1984, at 2 : 00 p.m.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that a copy of this
Resolution be mailed to the nearby property owners .
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 16th day of
May, A.D 1984 .

RE: USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW, DOG KENNEL, KAREN KEEL
A public hearing was conducted on May 16 , 1984, at 2:00 P.M. , with
the following present:
Commissioner Norman Carlson, Chairman
Commissioner Jacqueline Johnson, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Gene Brantner
Commissioner Chuck Carlson, Excused
Commissioner John Martin , Excused
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Mary Reiff
Assistant County Attorney, Lee D. Morrison
Planning Department Representative, Michael Mullen
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated April 9, 1984, and duly pub-
lished in the LaSalle Leader on May 3, 1984, a public hearing was conducted
to consider the application of Karen, Keel for a Use by Special Review for a
dog kennel. Chairman N. Carlson stated that, since only three Commissioners
were present, the applicant applicantcodairequest a continuance of this hearing to
a date when all Commissioners will be present. Mike Mullen, Planning Depart-
ment representative, stated that Karen Keel had requested this hearing be
continued. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, read this application
into the record. Mr. Mullen stated that the applicant had verbally requested
this hearing be continued until May 23. Discussion was held as to when all
five Commissioners will be present. Commissioner Johnson, noting a number of
persons in the audience interested in this hearing, spoke about the possibility
of hearing their testimony today, noting that those Commissioners who were
excused from today's hearing would have to listen to tapes of today's testimony,
Veronica Bilger, a neighbor, asked how many times a hearing could he continued.
Following further discussion, Commissioner Johnson moved to continue the Use
by Special Review hearing requested by Karen Keel to June 6, 1984, at 2:00
P.M. , and that the nearby property owners he mailed a copy of the Resolution
continuing the hearing. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Branter and
carried unanimously.
