RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS AT
THE INTERSECTION OF WELD COUNTY ROADS 15 AND 84
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering has in-
formed the Board that visibility is impaired at the intersection
of Weld County Roads 15 and 84 , and they recommend that "Stop
Ahead" and "Stop" traffic devices be installed to control the
traffic on Weld County Road 15 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 84 to insure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS , upon recommendation of the Department of Engineer-
ing, the Board has determined that said traffic devices are
necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of
Engineering by, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead"
and "Stop" signs to control the traffic on Weld County Road 15
at its intersection with Weld County Road 84, said signs being
for the safety of the general public and must conform to the
State manual and specifications .
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 31st day of
October, A.D. , 1984 .

subject: Weld County_Roads 84 and 15 - Traffic _Control Device Change
Field leveling has occurred at the southwest corner of the intersection of
Weld County Roads 84 and 15 resulting in the filling of a natural draw for
+ 800 feet to the west. In addition, there is a small residential dwelling
with some rather large trees. The visibility of the cross traffic at the
intersecting roads is impaired because of these factors.
I would recommend that 30 inch - by - 30 inch "Stop" signs be placed to
control the traffic on Weld County Road 15, preceded by 30 inch - by -
30 inch "Stop Ahead" signs. This would make Weld County Road 84 open to
through traffic. This action will comply with other stops in this area.
Also, Weld County Road 84 is a direct route from Larimer County to the
Black Hollow Recreation area.
