To the Weld County Commissioners,
When you get to be our age, you don't too excited about promises made by
politicians, so it is with great pleasure that we tell you how wonderful it was last
week when we heard graders and water trucks on Weld County Road 5. They
worked several days to grade and apply dust control from State Highway 56 south
to WCR 36. It has truly improved our life and it was an immediate improvement.
We give you an A+ for hearing our complaints when you met with us and our
neighbors at the Pickert Dairy a few months ago and then taking the steps needed to
solve the problems we told you about.
The Road Department did a great job. You may remember we told you that Road 5
was so rough you had to hold on to your teeth when driving on it even within hours
after if was graded. It is smoother than it has ever been since we've lived here
nearly 20 years and it has stayed that way!! We no longer are swallowed up in a
roiling cloud of dust when meeting or following another vehicle and we aren't
breathing in the dust particles when cars, trucks, and buses drive past our homes.
Thank you first for taking time to meet with us and listening to our complaints, but
thank you most for coming up with a plan and doing what was necessary to execute
the plan. We appreciate it.
