RE: EXPRESSION OF THANKS TO LAFARGE WEST, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Lafarge West, Inc. ("LaFarge") has, by agreement, donated to Weld
County, for the benefit of its citizens and visitors, approximately 1.25 miles of right-of-way for
the extension of the Poudre River Trail across the LaFarge property located north of the City of
Greeley and west of 35th Avenue, and
WHEREAS, said donation is significant in that it extends the Trail to near completion
without acquisition costs and allows the public to experience an area which is beautiful in terms
of its natural setting, wildlife viewing, and mountain backdrop, and
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to express its thanks to LaFarge for its contribution to
increasing the health and welfare of all of the citizens of Weld County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Board hereby expresses thanks to Lafarge West, Inc., for its
donation of right-of-way to extend the Poudre River Trail, which extension will significantly
benefit the health and welfare of all of the citizens of Weld County.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 20th day of March, A.D., 2002.
