A concern regarding a recreation special district not receiving its taxes was discussed
by Councilwoman Joyce Smock with Assistant Weld County Assessor Chris Woodruff.
Mr. Woodruff said that the Assessor's office did not lose tax money, and checks and
balances were in place to assure all special districts receive their taxes in the future.
The rapid growth in Weld County has created a challenge for the Assessor's office to
keep abreast of an ever-increasing number of special districts.
