Subject: Comprehensive Plan work session
To: Weld Board of County Commissioners: My
understanding is that there will be a work session for
the purpose of considering the proposed changes to the
Weld comprehensive plan to be held at the Board -'...I
chambers at 11AM on January 15th. The Weld planning /
commission has been invited to participate in the work
session. The Weld planning commission has a regular
meeting scheduled for 1:30PM on the same date [with
the regular commission luncheon scheduled for 12PM
which one the the Board members usually attends].
Given the extent of the changes proposed by the
advisory committee, it will take a substantial amount rt
of time to effectively review these changes. It would
appear that in view of the priority the planning
commission must give to its scheduled hearings, that
the commission will, in effect, not be able to fully
participate in the work session. Since the proposed
changes in the comprehensive plan are so extensive and
important as to their effect on the future of the
county, the Board might want to consider the
importance of the planning commission's full
involvement in all steps of their consideration.
