Dear Mr. Reckentine:
The Department of Planning Services has reviewed your request to install a double wide trailer on the
site of the LaFarge West, Inc. Stromquist Pit USR-536. The Department of Planning Services staff has
determined that a Zoning Mobile Home Permit(ZPMH)for a "trailer used as an office" permit is required.
For your convenience you will find a copy the ZPMH application and a copy of the building permit
application. The Department of Building Inspection will require building permits. These can be applied
for in conjunction with the zoning permit for a mobile home (ZPMH).

Subject: Lafarge West, Inc. Stromquist Pit USR-536:82:51 — proposal to install an office trailer
with possible septic system within the boundaries of our asphalt plant lease area.
Lafarge West, Inc. formally known as Western Mobile, Inc. (Lafarge) permitted and zoned the
stromquist property for aggregate mining and an asphalt batch plant. Lafarge is currently operating the
asphalt batch plant and providing service to Weld County and adjoining areas. Lafarge intends to
install on a temporary basis a doublewide trailer to be used as office space for our asphalt staff. The
trailer will be installed within the limits of our asphalt batch plant lease area, and we are interested in
installing a septic system within the lease area boundaries as well. Lafarge has contacted the
landowner and has verbal approval for the modifications.
Lafarge understands that the county has certain procedures that must be completed prior to the
installation of the doublewide trailer, however, hopes that the addition of the doublewide is not
considered a major change to our current zoning status.
We are on a schedule to moved the trailer in as soon as possible, so please let us know the scope of the
permitting that will be required and the time frames for review that will be necessary for us to complete
our project.

the forthcoming issues. Please keep in mind any meeting times if necessary for the week of the 25th
