Thank you for your letter of January 16, 2002 regarding the above referenced lands. After
additional title review it was discovered the lands owned by Weld County are held by production
by a marginally producing well in E''/2 of Section 35, T7N-R59W.

This letter is in response to a letter which you send to Ms. Carol Harding, Deputy Clerk to the
Board, dated October 31, 2001, regarding a proposed lease for minerals in Lots 3 and 4,
E''/2SW%, and the SE'/4 (a/d/a S%) of Section 30-8-58.
We are having trouble identifying the interest Weld County has in the subject property. Do you
have any information showing Weld County as owner of the minerals?
