Box 570 Berthoud, CO 80513 Re: Enforcement of 1997 Uniform Fire Code, as Amended, in the Unincorporated Weld County Area of the Berthoud Fire Protection District Dear Mr. Charles: Mr. Lee Scott and I have been leaving messages for each other regarding consideration by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County("the Board") concerning a request for the Board's consent to the enforcement of 1997 Uniform Fire Code, as amended, in the unincorporated Weld County area of the Berthoud Fire Protection District("the District"). The Board desires to have an opportunity for the persons who will be affected by the proposed enforcement to have input into that decision. The Board originally requested that I contact Lee to require the District to mail notice to every property owner in the unincorporated Weld County portion of the District, telling each owner of the proposed date of the Board's consideration. Lee stated a concern that the cost of such mailing would be large. I asked the Board Chairman, Glenn Vaad, and he suggested an alternative. His alternative would be to have the District hold an informational meeting in Berthoud, publish notice of that meeting in the Berthoud Register and mail the notice to five local organizations, entities or companies that may be interested, and have that notice also state the date when the Board will consider the District's request for consent to the enforcement.
