RE: APPROVE ADDENDUM TO CONTRACT FOR PHASE II OF NORTH JAIL AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - ROCHE CONSTRUCTORS, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Addendum to the Contract for
Phase II of the North Jail between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, and Roche Constructors, Inc., with terms and
conditions being as stated in said addendum, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said addendum, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Addendum to the Contract for Phase II of the North Jail
between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, and Roche Constructors, Inc., be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said addendum.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 29th day of July, A.D., 2002.

GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE
ADDENDUM II
WELD COUNTY NORTH JAIL PHASE II
The Construction Manager's Guaranteed Maximum Price for the Work,including the estimated Cost of the Work as defined in Article 6
and the Construction Manager's Fee as defined in Article 5, is Six Million Three Hundred Thousand and no/100 Dollars
(x6.300.000.00) for the Weld County North Jail Phase II. This is a stipulated sum amount including profit and general
conditions.
This Price is for the performance of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents listed and attached to this Amendment and
marked Exhibits A through F,as follows:
Exhibit A Drawings, Specifications, addenda and General, Supplementary and other Conditions of the Contract on which the
Guaranteed Maximum Price is based,pages 1 through 2 dated July 24. 2002.
Exhibit B Allowance items,pages 1 through 1 dated July 24. 2002.
Exhibit C Assumptions and clarifications made in preparing the Guaranteed Maximum Price,pages 1 through 1,dated July 24.
2002.
Exhibit D Completion schedule,pages through,dated Not Applicable
Exhibit E Alternate prices,pages 1 through 1,dated July 24. 2002.
Exhibit F Unit prices,pages 1 through 1,dated July 24, 2002.
The general conditions costs may exceed the $414,000.00 as outlined in the contract. The"restriction" is lifted.
This contract excludes Section 08100 (Hollow Metal Doors and Frames). Section 08200 (Wood Doors). Section 08700
Finish Hardware), Section 11191 (Security Metal Doors and Frames). Section 11192 (Security Hardware), and all Division
13. including conduit. devices, and electrical entirely. This work is being performed by others, but Roche Constructors.
Inc.,will assist with scheduling and coordination.
Paragraph 5.3.4 is hereby amended to reflect that the construction manager's fee will be calculated at a cost plus 10% on
any scope changes above the contract amount.
ARTICLE II
CONTRACT TIME
The date of Substantial Completion established by this Amendment is:
The date of commencement shall be July 29. 2002. provided all necessary permits can be obtained by this date. The
Weld County North Jail Phase II portion shall be substantially complete within 430 calendar days of the date of
commencement.

The following is a list of bid assumptions / clarifications:
1. We exclude the building permit fee, plan check fee, water connection
fees, raw water fees, or utility fees.
2. We exclude quality assurance testing.
3. We exclude any fire pumps.
4. We exclude any rock excavation.
5. We exclude the cost of a Builder's Risk Policy.
6. We exclude all city, state, and federal sales and use tax.
7. We have excluded all carpet supply and install and rubber base at
carpeted areas.
8. We exclude all furnishings and equipment.
9. We exclude any cost associated with relocation or extension of existing
fiber optics and empty conduits within our work area for future fiber
optics.
10. We exclude any relocation, repair, or temporary re-routing of existing
landscape irrigation system.
11. Maintenance for existing landscape areas to be covered by owner.
12. Sections 08100- Hollow Metal Doors and Frames and 08200-Wood Doors
shall be furnished and installed by others.
13. Division 13, Section 11191, and 11192 shall be completed by others, Sierra
Steel Company, and contracted directly to the owner.
14. Security mesh screen tack welded to tube steel frame and painted per
detail A3.3/9.

EXHIBIT "E"
The following is a list of alternates proposed for this project:
Alternate #1: Contractor shall furnish and install 10300 detention hardware at
Pod Nos. O, R, TM, and TF Cell/dorm doors in lieu of 10120 detention hardware. NOT
ACCEPTED
Alternate #2: Contractor shall furnish all labor to remove existing visitation lockers
from the Centennial Center ( 915 101h Street), haul to project site, and reinstall at Lobby
as indicated on drawings. Lockers shall be repainted color as selected by Architect. Base
bid is to furnish and install new visitation lockers as specified in Section 10500 Metal
Lockers. NOT ACCEPTED.
Alternate #3: Contractor shall furnish and install laminate counter tops and
painted steel frames at Visitation Room Nos. H5 and H6 in lieu of stainless steel
countertops and frames. NOT ACCEPTED.
Alternate #4: Contractor shall furnish and install 12 foot wide asphalt paved
driveway to maintenance access with (2) 8 foot x 8 foot cyclone fence installed swing
gates to be secured with padlock as indicated on drawings. ACCEPTED.
Alternate #5: Contractor shall furnish and install fire resistive coating at interior
dayroom columns as specified in section 09900. Base bid shall be to finish primed steel
columns with one coat of Oil Enamel Undercoat and second coat of Gloss Oil Enamel.
NOT ACCEPTED.
Alternate #6: Contractor shall furnish and install one layer of fire rated Gypsum
Wallboard between the metal deck and the roof insulation to increase the fire rating for
the assembly. Contractor shall decrease the amount of sprayed on fire proofing required
at the metal decking to maintain the fire rating integrity accordingly. Refer to alternate
drawing detail 4 on sheet A1.10. NOT ACCEPTED.
Alternate #7: Division 13 Security Contractor to complete intercom and security
control at Administration Lobby Room 203 for four (4) Lobby Entry Doors wired to control
panel at Administration Reception Room 207. Refer to Sheet SE 1.2. NOT ACCEPTED.
