RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS PROPERTY, APPROVE
CUSTOMER PURCHASE ORDER FOR TRADE OF HYDRAULIC EXCAVATOR, AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - COLORADO MACHINERY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Code require that all items disposed of
be declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, the County has determined that certain equipment, described as a 2000
Deere 160LC Hydraulic Excavator, is no longer required for County use, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Customer Purchase Order for the
trade-in of said equipment and replacement with a 2003 Deere Model 160°C"
LC Hydraulic Excavator from Colorado Machinery with a $28,190.00 remaining balance, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to declare said equipment as
surplus, and approve Customer Purchase Order for the trade-in and replacement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the 2000 Deere 160LC Hydraulic Excavator be, and hereby is,
declared as surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Customer Purchase Order for
trade-in of said equipment and replacement with a remaining balance of$28,190.00 due to
Colorado Machinery be, and hereby is, approved.

We now have all the data to do the annual trade-in /swap on one of the John Deere 160 excavators. I did
the numbers and it is still cheaper to do the 24 month turnover than to buy and keep for 10 years. Do you
want me to send this up to you?
