RE: APPROVE FOUR PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS
SENIOR CENTERS FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO
SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with four Purchase of Services Agreements
for operational expenses between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human
Services, Area Agency on Aging, and the following senior centers, with further terms and
conditions being as stated in said agreements:
1) Senior Citizens of Nunn
2) Pierce Senior Citizen Program
3) Hill-N-Park Senior Citizen Program
4) Lochbuie Senior Citizen Program
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreements,
copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the four Purchase of Services Agreements for operational
expenses between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency
on Aging, and the above listed senior centers be, and hereby are, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreements.

Purchase of Services Agreement
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 1st day of November, 2002 by and between the County of
Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the
Weld County Division of Human Services' Area Agency on Aging, hereinafter referred to as "AAA" and the
Lochbuie Senior Citizen Program hereinafter referred to as the "Lochbuie After Glows."
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, "AAA" develops and administers the Area Plan for a comprehensive and coordinated system of
services, and
WHEREAS, "AAA" considers small rural senior centers a vital link in the county's system of services to older
adults, and
WHEREAS, "Lochbuie After Glows" is a senior center providing recreational, nutritional, and educational
opportunities for senior citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed:
1. The"AAA"hereby agrees to award grant monies (under the Older Americans Act) in the sum of$1.500
to "Lochbuie After Glows."
2. "Lochbuie After Glows" agree to expend the grant monies to pay for operating expenses for the center to
include: electricity, gas, telephone, insurance, office supplies, postage, and other minor operating expenses.
3. "Lochbuie After Glows" agree to maintain documentation of the above expenditures and to seek prior
approval from the Area Agency on Aging if it is needed to expend a portion of this grant on expenditures
not listed in number(2) above.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Agreement on the day first written above.

SUBJECT: Purchase of Service Agreements with between
the Weld County Area Agency on Aging and
Rural Weld County Senior Centers
Enclosed for Board approval are Purchase of Service Agreements with four rural Senior
Centers - Nunn, Pierce, Hill N Park, and Lochbuie. Each of these centers faces financial
hardship in terms of keeping their centers open. The centers will utilize the grants to help
pay for heat, lights, telephone, supplies, water and other operational expenses. The
following grants are to be awarded:
Nunn Senior Center - $1,500
Pierce Senior Center - $1 ,500
Hill N Park Senior Center - $1,500
Lochbuie Senior Center - $1,500 :'
