Home My WebLink About20021951.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES HOUSING AUTHORITY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JULY 22, 2002 TAPE #2002-23 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 22, 2002, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Chair Commissioner David E. Long, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED Commissioner M. J. Geile Commissioner William H. Jerke Commissioner Robert D. Masden Also present: Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding Finance and Administration Director, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board meeting of June 24, 2002, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER COORDINATION OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - A ROOM AT THE INN: Tom Teixeira, Housing Authority, stated the first four items are agreements under which the Housing Authority distributes monies received from the State Division of Housing to four agencies within Weld County. This agreement is for an amount not to exceed$5,800.00. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER COORDINATION OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - A WOMAN'S PLACE: Mr. Teixeira stated this agreement is for an amount not to exceed $9,450.00. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Geile, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER COORDINATION OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - GREELEY TRANSITIONAL HOUSE: Mr. Teixeira stated $11,683.00 is the maximum amount to be awarded under this agreement. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously. 2002-1951 BC0016 CONSIDER COORDINATION OF SERVICES AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - CATHOLIC CHARITIES/NORTHERN: Mr.Teixeira stated$17,042.00 is the maximum amount to be spent under this agreement, some of which will be used for rent assistance. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER APPLICATION FOR REHAB PROGRAM ASSISTANCE AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIR TO SIGN: Mr. Teixeira stated this application is for$225,000 for the Family Rehabilitation Program to assist low-income residents in maintaining their homes in a safe and sanitary manner. Responding to Commissioner Jerke, Mr. Teixeira stated these are Community Development Block Grant funds. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. CONSIDER APPLICATION FOR LOAN/GRANT ASSISTANCE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Mr. Teixeira stated this application is to the State Department of Housing for Community Development Block Grant funds to obtain $77,000. It would allow a $5,000 loan to be used as a down payment and closing costs to assist first-time home buyers. Commissioner Masden moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
