RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER GLENN VAAD TO BE WELD
COUNTY'S REPRESENTATIVE TO SOUTHWEST WELD DRAINAGE AUTHORITY
BOARD OF DIRECTORS, WITH COMMISSIONER ROB MASDEN AS ALTERNATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Southwest Weld Drainage Authority was formed on March 27, 2002, by
and through the approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between Weld County, the towns
of Erie, Firestone and Frederick, the cities of Dacono and Longmont, the Weld County Tri-Area
Sanitation District and St. Vrain Sanitation District, and the St. Vrain and Left Hand Water
Conservancy District, and
WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Agreement specifies that each of the entities is to
have one Director on the Drainage Authority's Board of Directors, and that although the terms
of each of the Directors is to be three years in length, the term for the initial Weld County
Director is to be two years, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to appoint Commissioner Vaad to said Board
of Directors, and Commissioner Rob Masden as his alternate, with their terms in such
capacities with respect to said Board to expire December 31, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that Commissioner Glenn Vaad be, and hereby is, appointed as Weld
County's Director to the Southwest Weld Drainage Authority Board of Directors, and
Commissioner Rob Masden as his alternate, with their terms in such capacities with respect to
said Board to expire December 31, 2004.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 3rd day of June, A.D., 2002.
