RE: APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL FROM WESTERN PAVING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR THE, IMPROVEMENT OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 7 AND AUTHORIZATION
FOR THE: CHAIRMAN TO SIGN SAME
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld Cor _ty ,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter , is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , on June 1, 1983 , Weld County entered into a road
maintenance and improvements agreement with Western Paving Con-
struction Company, said agreement being a condition of the grant-
ing of a Use by Special Review Permit for an open-cut gravel pit
located in the N; NWa, Section 16 , Township 2 North , Range 68
West of the 6th P .M. , Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , Western Paving Construction Company has now pre-
sented the Board of County Commissioners with a proposal, contain-
ing Option #1 and Option #2 , for the improvement of Weld County
Road 7 , and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners has studied the
terms of said proposal , a copy being attached hereto and incor-
porated herein by reference , and deems it advisable to approve
Option #2 of said proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that Option #2 of the pro-
posal from Western Paving Construction Company be, and hereby
is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the Chairman of the Board be , and hereby is, authorized to
sign said proposal.

The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made

Dear Drew:
In our joint effort to improve Weld County Road #7, we propose the
following options for your review and/or recommendations:
QUANTITIES:
The length of the roadway from our excavated past two pits north to
Highway 11> is 2,383 lineal feet. This is the area that has been patched
by both the County and Western Paving. The new pit (Groom) is an addi-
tional 1 ,890 lineal feet south on Weld County Road #7. This area you
have skin patched.
Total length: 4,273' x 25' width = 11 ,869 sq.yd.
11 ,869 sq.yd. x 3" mat = 1 ,977 tons mix
11 ,869 sq.yd. x 2" mat = 1 ,318 tons mix
OUR COSTS:
AC oil is $155.00/ton
AC tack is $155.00/ton
SS tack is $0.66/gallon
Petromat is $0.55/squard yard
WELD COUNTY'S CONTRIBUTION:
OPTION #I:
3" overlay = 1 ,977 tons x .06 = 118.62 tons AC
@ $155 = $18,386.10
+ tack @ .10 gal/sq.yd. = 1 ,186.9 gal. @ .66 = 783.35
$19,169.45
OPTION #2:
2" overlay = 1 ,318 tons x .06 = 79.08 tons AC @ $1$12,257.40
Petromat w/ 6" Lap = 12,106 sq.yd. @ $.55 = 6,638.30
+ AC tack @ .30 gal/sq.yd. = 16.84 tons @ $155 = 2,610.20
$21 ,525.90
Our billing to you would be on the exact quantitites used at the above rates.
WESTERN'S CONTRIBUTION:
As per our agreement, we will supply the manpower, equipment, haul and
asphaltic gravel to put one of the above in place.

in advance of need.

If you do approve and accept one of the proposed options as outlined

this proposal to our office, retaining the original for your records.
