RE: Case Number: Z-565: Schaal Change of Zone
Dear Monica:
Thank you for sending the application for the Schaal Change of Zone from R-1 (Residential) to
A (Agriculture) to the City of Longmont for our review and comment. The 17 acre property is
located at the southeast corner of SH66 and WCR1 and is located near Union Reservoir. I
understand that the purpose of the proposed rezoning is to construct a greenhouse.
The City of Longmont has no issues with the rezoning in and of itself However, we do
understand that there may be the opportunity for subsequent application and approval of a
recorded exemption and an additional single family dwelling. Given the proximity of this
property to Union Reservoir, the City is concerned about the approval of additional septic
permits. The City respectfully requests that any additional residential development on this
property be served by central sewer.

Dear Mr. Schaal:
In our recent discussions, you have requested that we confirm that service to your property at the
above address is in conformance with District requirements. Further, this information is being
required by the Weld County Planning Department as a part of their review process.
After having inspected the facilities at the above address, we determined that a"Reduced Pressure
Zone Backflow Prevention Device" must be installed and inspected -with the results forwarded to
us- to be in compliance with State Laws designed to protect public drinking water supplies.
It is my understanding that you are in the process of having this device installed. Please advise us
when the installation and testing certification process is complete. We will then notify Weld County
Planning that all District requirements have been satisfied.
I hope this provides you with the information you need. If you have questions, please contact our
office.
