Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Bid Request No. 018-84.
Based on the category of vehicles identified in Section 4.0, Motorola
will install radios in vehicles as follows:
Category l - $100:00; Category 2 - $150.00; Category 3 - $175.00;
Category 4 - $200.00; Category 5 to be negotiated.
The list of equipment included with Bid Request No. 018-84 does not in-
clude the Centra Com Console equipment in the Weld County Communication
Center. Motorola will maintain these consoles for $200.00 per month.
As an alternative, Motorola recommends providing a dedicated technician
to Weld County for three working days per week. Recommended terms and
conditions for this option are identified on Attachment A.
Motorola looks forward to the opportunity to serve Weld County's Radio
Communication Service requirements .

ATTACHMENT A
Weld County Dedicated Technician
Terms and Conditions
1 ) The contract cost for a dedicated technician for three working days
per week will be $3600.00 per month.
2) Service hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on three days identified
during the normal Monday through Friday work week.
3) Call out repairs for other days of the week, during normal working
hours will be $52.00 per hour. Above contract labor rates after nor-
mal working hours , weekends and holidays will be billed at $67.00
per hour. A maximum of one hour travel will be charged for any call
out repairs . Only designated County employees will be authorized to
initiate call out service.
4) The Service Agreement includes all parts and labor, less the standard
exceptions listed on the Service Contract.
A. Call out service will be charged for labor only; parts , less stan-
dard exemptions , will be included as part of the Contract.
B. During the days the technician is normally assigned, restoration
of failed equipoment requiring repairs due to physical damage,
acts of God, etc . , will be on a not-to-interfere basis with nor-
mal repairs . The intent of this is to permit the technician to
keep up with the normal repair workload. However, the County
retains the right to determine restoration priorities .
C. During the days the technician is normally assigned, no labor
will be charged for repairs required due to physical damage,
acts of God, etc. , and equipment inoperable at the start of con-
tract, however parts for these types of repairs will be above
contract.
D. Parts and labor will be charged as above contract for non-field
repairable units when in-shop repairs are necessitated due to
physical damage, acts of God, etc.
ATTACHMENT B
If Weld County awards the two-way maintenance contract to MOTOROLA;
MOTOROLA's Loveland Service Center will maintain the system. MOTOROLA's
Loveland Service Center has been operational for over a year and a half.
Our service shop manager, Kerry Mulford, is a fully licensed technician and
has over 11 years of experience. There are four full time technicians on
duty at all times , an installer, 2 completely stocked service vans for all
types of field repairs and an installation van for field installations.
The Loveland Service Center has 4 MOTOROLA 2001 service monitors
which can examine any type of radio frequency unit, plus 3 mobile/portable
bench set-ups. There is also an extensive technical library of service
manuals enabling the technicians to work on any type of communications equip-
ment. Upwards of 4 vehicles can be worked on in the service center.
MOTOROLA's Loveland Service Center uses MOTOROLA parts , or parts of
equal quality, in servicing your equipment. This assures you of continued
quality performance, because components similar to those originally selected
for quality and reliability during equipment design are used for replacement.
These parts are stocked in our fully equipped service vans at MOTOROLA'S
Loveland Service Center (presently an inventory of $12,000 in parts on hand) ,
and at our factory depot. Therefore, equipment outage time is kept to a
minimum.
The MOTOROLA Loveland Service Center is backed by a MOTOROLA Service
Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, 2 MOTOROLA Service Centers in Denver, an Area
Office located in Englewood, Colorado, with its staff of Engineers, Field
Technical Representatives, Product Consultants , Service Representatives and
National Parts Department. In addition , the Service Centers are structured
in such a way that personnel can be "loaned out" in the event of emergencies
or large projects. Consequently, Weld County is assured their communication
system and communication equipment will continue to perform as was originally
designed.
MOTOROLA' s Service Organization is presently maintaining the following
communications systems which are comparable in size and complexity to Weld
County's communication system:
- City of Longmont
- City of Arvada
- Regional Transportation District
- Ft. Lupton Police Department
- Cherry Hills Police Department
- Vail Associates
The above listed satisfied customers are but a sampling. A larger
listing will be furnished upon request.

4.9 ABOVE CONTRACT LABOR RATES
4.9. 1 Above contract labor rates, normal working hours, less holidays

4. 10. 1 Above contract parts costs will be at the national rate as
published by Contractor's corporation, parent company or
manufacture affiliation.
4. 10.2 If the Contractor is not a corporation, owned by a parent company
or has a parts inventory with a particular manufacturer, or who's
parts pricing is not determined by any of these aforementioned or
otherwise not priced at a national rate, the Contractor must then
indicate a fixed percentage increased that will be charged
( N/A ) on a cost plus basis.

PAYMENT TERMS:
Payment will be tendered monthly, not more than thirty (30) days after
submission of the invoice by the Contractor.
