Cable television offers more choices than ever when it comes to home entertainment. Cable delivers a wide
variety of programming including award-winning documentaries, children's shows, along with your favorite local
channels. Add it all up and cable television is still the best entertainment value around.
Everywhere you look, the cost of entertainment keeps going up. Tickets to the movies, ball games and
amusement parks have doubled over the last five years. The prices for today's stars, sports and events have
dramatically increased over the last several years.
Fees paid to programmers like ESPN, TBS, USA and premium services continue to rise. In order for us to
continue bringing you quality service and entertainment, we must adjust our rates to help absorb the increased
cost of operations as well as the increased cost of programming that we provide to our customers. For this
reason you will also see our competitors rates rise as well.
We recognize the need to balance price with value. Even as our costs go up,we strive to provide the best value
to you and the entire community we serve. Galaxy Cablevision will continue to provide our quality service at a
competitive rate. Effective in January, the basic rate in WELD COUNTY will be increased from $30.95 to
$33.95, a$3.00 increase. However,we are pleased to inform you that we are adding The Travel Channel to the
basic cable package. Our customers will be notified of this change in their December billing statement as well
as the addition of this new channel.
I would also like to introduce to you our new Colorado State Manager, Doug Smith. Doug comes to Galaxy with
seven years experience in the cable television industry. He has worked in many aspects of cable television
including operations, marketing and customer care. Doug makes a wonderful addition to our Galaxy family and
