RE : GRANT REQUEST OF THE AL FRENTE DE LUCHA, INC. FOR USE OF
THE STAGE AT ISLAND GROVE PARK AND WAIVER OF RENTAL FEE
FOR THE SAME.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, has received a request from Al Frente de Lucha, Inc. ,
for use of the stage at Island Grove Park for their Mexican
Independence Day celebration on September 16 , 1981, and have
also requested that the rental fee for use of the stage be
waived, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to grant
said request for use of the stage and also desires to grant
the request for waiver of the rental fee for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of
Al Frente de Lucha, Inc. , for the use of the stage on September 16,
1981 be, and hereby is, granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the rental fee for use of the stage by the Al Frente de
Lucha, Inc. be, and hereby is, waived. However, the damage
deposit shall be paid by Al Frente de Lucha, Inc. in advance.
Al Frente De Lucha, Inc. shall be responsible for setting up
the stage and return to its respective location.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 8th
day of September, A.D. , 1981.

From: The board of the community organization Al Frente de Lucha, Inc.
The celebration of September 16th (Mexican Independence Day) has become a
tradition in Greeley. Every year, hundreds of people gather at Island
Grove park to listen to speakers and enjoy many cultural presentations
by musicians, dancers, and singers from the area. This year, September
16th will be celebrated once again at Island Grove Park with a day-long
fiesta. Because we have a number of dance groups on the agenda, we are
in much need of a stage for the ballet performances. Therefore, we are
asking the Weld County Commissioners to approve, for free of charge, the
use of the stage owned by the Extension Service and rented-out at x5.00
a section. We are a non-profit organization that is helping to sponsor
September 16th with literally no funds. All the entertainment and cultural
activities at the park are presented free-of-charge and the performers
all volunteer their serivces. Consequently, we have no funds to be able
to rent out the stage. Since this is an event that people of all nationa-
lities from cities throughout the county attend, we would urge the county
commissioners to approve our request. Thank you.
