households compared with the prior month while the Food Stamp caseload increased oy 28 407
households. Most of the Food Stamp caseload increase is attributed to migrant worker families
within the county. Three hundred forty- seven migrant families received Food Stamps in June
compared with 190 families in May.
The Child Protection and Youth Service caseload remained stable. During June, 221 households
receiving Child Protection Services were active with the Department. An additional 216
households were active with the Department's Youth Service Unit during June. Support services,
such as Day Care and Homemaker Service, continue to be significant programs for the county.
Expenditures for June (excluding Old Age Pension and Food Stamps) were $650,751. The De-
partment remained slightly under budget with 49.2% expended half-way through the budget year.
