HomeMy WebLinkAbout20023118.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE TEN PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS SENIOR CENTERS FOR OUTREACH ACTIVITIES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with ten Purchase of Services Agreements for outreach activities between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging, and the following senior centers, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said agreements: 1) Erie Senior Citizens 2) Evans Senior Center 3) Fort Lupton Community Center 4) Grover Senior Citizens 5) Hill-N-Park Senior Citizens 6) Johnstown Community Center 7) Kersey Senior Center 8) Nunn Senior Citizens 9) Pierce Senior Center 10) Tri-Town Senior Center WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreements, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the ten Purchase of Services Agreements for outreach activities between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging, and the above listed senior centers be, and hereby are, approved. Erie Senior Citizens understand that the grant of$350.00 may be used to implement the "Connect to the Community"and to advance the overall Erie senior recreational program. 4. Speckman, Executive Director Hurrtan ServicesDATE: November 18, 2002 COLORADO SUBJECT: Purchase of Services Agreements with Rural Weld County Senior Centers Enclosed for Board approval are ten (10) Purchase of Service agreements with Weld County Senior Centers to purchase outreach activities. These grants are in response to needs data which shows that a high percentage of Weld seniors are lonely and isolated from community life. The senior centers listed below have agreed to redouble their efforts to reach out to these seniors by implementing telephone reassurance calls, one on one visitations, and buddy programs to attract new seniors to the centers and a variety of other outreach activities.
