The runs are heavy gauge portable chainlink, measuring 4 x 6 on the indoor and 4 x 16 outside allowing room for exercise. Building two is pole frame type, constructed in 1998, with strong panel lined walls..this building was originally built as a a livestock facility. The runs are constructed of heavy gauge chainlink, white polymax and stainless steel. They are 6 foot tall measuring 4x6 inside and 4x 16 outside. Dogs are allowed indoor/outdoor access.. There is heating in the kennel supplied by a overhead furnace. There is a 4 foot concrete walkway on both sides. Water is available indoors and out. Play yards and the boundaries of the kennel are completely fenced with either 6' privacy or 6'chainlink. Should any dogs be loose it is a impossibility for them to leave the compound. This is for their safety. This is a hobby kennel that specializes in Labrador Retrievers, credits include being the breeder of the countries top ranked labradors, assistance dogs and search and rescue. Dogs are carefully maintained and screened for genetic issue orthopedic and eyes to insure soundness and temperament. Unlike most kennels dogs that are kept and bred always have a home and are cared for their entire life span. geriatrics are a special part of day to day operations. This does not exclude any dogs that have a physical problem that prohibits adoption..these dogs are cared for as well. •erefore I am requesting 150 dogs, to allow for the young and old..any less would make it impossible for this kennel to maintain these dogs and remain in compliance. I care for these dogs myself and do not ask for assistance nor do I am make them anyones responsibility but my own. We have reviewed water bills > of pet boarding facilities that showed the gallons of water used and >divided them by the number of dogs and discovered the average use to be > 2-3 gallons of water use per dog. This seems to make sense in that it >would take approximately two minutes to wash down a run (kennel enclosure) > apply disinfectant and rinse. If a kennel maintenance person was using >thirty gallons of water to perform the daily cleaning tasks it would take >several hours to complete the cleaning of a row of 20-30 enclosures and >would require 600-900 gallons of water. The common cleaning practice in a > number of different types of animal care facilities is to pick up any >solids and rinse any remaining urine down the drain. With the slope of > concrete enclosure this cleaning procedure is usually brief. > In talking with Crystal Dye, she agreeable to install a water meter in her > kennel to determine actual water use. The Pet Animal Care Facilities Act > (PACFA) program personnel would be willing to complete an unannounced >inspection during that time to insure that proper sanitation is being > practiced.
