HomeMy WebLinkAbout20020641.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES IN MARTIN SUBDIVISION AND GREEN ACRES SUBDIVISION AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 10 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that"Stop" signs be installed on Sunrise Lane, Martin Street, and Elizabeth Street, all within Martin Subdivision, at Weld County Road 10, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that "Stop Ahead" signs be installed on Elizabeth Street, within Martin Subdivision, at Weld County Road 10, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that"Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be installed on Cottonwood Lane, within Green Acres Subdivision, at Weld County Road 10, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop" signs on Sunrise Lane, Martin Street, and Elizabeth Street, all within Martin Subdivision, at Weld County Road 10, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead" signs on Elizabeth Street, within Martin Subdivision, at Weld County Road 10, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Hempen, Jr. DATE: March 11, 2002 lunge FROM: Marc Street, Maintenance Support Supervisor SUBJECT: Traffic Control Devices COLORADO Martin and Green Acres Subdivisions WCR 10 between WCR 37 and Meadow Lark Road is currently under construction and is scheduled to be paved. This project is adjacent to the Martin and Green Acres Subdivisions. Upon completion, WCR 10 will be the "through" road. Traffic control devices will be required at the following locations: Martin Subdivision: Stop signs will be required on Sunrise Lane, Martin Street, and Elizabeth Street at the approach to WCR 10. A stop ahead sign is also recommended on Elizabeth Street at the approach to WCR 10. Green Acres Subdivision: A stop and a stop ahead sign are both recommended on Cottonwood Lane at the approach to WCR 10.
