ORDINANCE NO. 118-B
IN THE MATTER OF AMENDING SECTIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 118 AND 118-A CONCERNING
WELD COUNTY PERSONNEL POLICIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WELD COUNTY COLORADO:
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of August, 1983, the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, adopted Ordinance No. 118, concerning
Weld County Personnel Policies, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to amend certain
sections of Ordinance No. 118 as follows:
Page 26, Health and Safety, Reporting of Injuries, second paragraph,
first sentence, delete: North Colorado Medical Center Emergency
Room or the nearest hospital emergency room. Add after the word
the: established Weld County Worker's Compensation primary medical
care facilities. These medical facilities will be designated under
separate cover and posted in all work areas.
ro G Delete last paragraph. Add: "All County Employees are covered by
• u the State Worker's Compensation Act. The County's self-insured
worker's compensation program protects all employees against total
O loss of income and hospital expenses as a result of on-the-job
accidents or occupational illness. It should be noted that
Chiropractic services will not be paid unless medical referral is
o 3 made by the attending physician. A full time employee who sustains
an injury or occupational illness while performing assigned duties

and is incapable of performing the normal function of the job, will
areceive regular full salary for a period not to exceed three days
G from date of injury. At the end of the third day the full time
employee will receive 66 2/3 percent of his/her normal salary, minus
rig employee generated deductions for the period of injury leave.
.. o During the worker's compensation leave, a full time employee does
not accumulate sick or vacation leave. Part-time or hourly
employees are paid 66 2/3 per cent of their normal salary from the
date of injury. Before the injured employee is allowed to return to
co• o work, a written release is required from his/her doctor stating that
r-z the employee will be able to assume full working responsibilities
cN W and duties. The injured employee must keep the Department
o m Head/Elected Official and Personnel Department informed of his/her
condition. Injured employees who can perform less demanding job
rn duties may be assigned other duties, if available, by the Department

enrollment date in November, to be effective January 16th of the
