Approve Emergency Bid #B2500146, Cisco Network Core, and Waiver of Ten-Day
Waiting Period for Consideration and Investigation — Department of Information
Technology
Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
Whereas, the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, on January 19, 2026, was cancelled by Resolution #2025-2515,
dated September 8, 2025, and the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board on
January 21, 2026, was cancelled by Resolution #2025-3533, dated December 22, 2025,
and
Whereas, Emergency Bid Request#B2500146, Cisco Network Core, for the Department
of Information Technology, opened January 6, 2026, and the Purchasing Department has
requested waiver of the ten-day waiting period to ensure preferred pricing is guaranteed,
and
Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said emergency bid.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for Emergency Bid Request #B2500146,
Cisco Network Core, for the Department of Information Technology, be, and hereby is,
waived.
Be it further resolved by the Board that the low bid from Trace3 Government, LLC, in
the amount of $899,064.54, be, and hereby is, approved on an emergency basis.

Subject: Award Recommendation for Cisco Network Core B2500146
Bids were received and opened on January 6, 2026 for the Cisco Network Core bid. Four
bids were received ranging from $899,064.54 to $3,336,986.00. Attached is the bid
tabulation for your information.
The Information Technology staff reviewed all bids. Trace3 Government, LLC out of
Colorado Springs, CO proposed the lowest cost solution of $899,064.54 and meets the
requirements documented in the bid process.
The Information Technology Department is requesting emergency approval in
accordance with Weld County Code Section 5-4-30 titled Bid Regulations by waiving the
ten-day waiting period due to the formal cancellation of the BOCC meetings on
January 19, 2026, and January 21, 2026. Based on this criterion, it is being requested the
award date be set to January 12, 2026. This ensures the preferred pricing offered to Weld
County can be guaranteed.
With the above information, I recommend the BOCC award the Cisco Network Core to
Trace3 Government, LLC for a total amount of $899,064.54.
