HomeMy WebLinkAbout20260026 Record of Proceedings Minutes Board of County Commissioners Weld County, Colorado Wednesday, January 7, 2026 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, January 7, 2026, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Scott K. James, Chair Commissioner Jason S. Maxey, Pro-Tern Commissioner Perry L. Buck Commissioner Lynette Peppler Commissioner Kevin D. Ross Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Houstan Aragon County Attorney, Bruce Barker Minutes: Commissioner Buck moved to approve the below listed Minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting, as printed. Commissioner Peppler seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. 1 . Minutes from December 24, 2025 Amendments to Agenda: There were no amendments to the Agenda. Consent Agenda: Commissioner Ross moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as printed. Commissioner Peppler seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Presentations and Proclamations: 1. Eaton Reds Day, Girls Volleyball Class 3A State Championship: Commissioner Ross read the certificate for the record. At the request of Chair James, each of the teammates introduced themselves for the record. The team's Coach thanked the Board for the recognition and stated the team's dedication to excellence and each other proved to be the winning combination for the season. He acknowledged their winning the season came after losing in the semi-finals for three (3) years in a row and expressed that is has been his pride and honor to coach such a great group of athletes. Each of the Commissioners 2026-0026 BC0016 I/Z-7 Page 2 Wednesday, January 7, 2026 www.weld.gov extended their congratulations to the team for their accomplishments and applauded their outstanding leadership skills and hard work as a part of Team Weld. (Clerk's Note: The group gathered for a photo opportunity.) New Business — General: 1. Consider Standard Form for Adult Protective Services (APS) Cooperative Agreements Between Department of Human Services and Various Agencies, and Authorize Chair and Department of Human Services to Sign Agreements Consistent with Said Form: Jamie Ulrich, Director of the Department of Human Services, stated the agreement template will be used with various law enforcement agencies for coordinated investigations regarding allegations of neglect and abuse of at-risk adults in Weld County. Commissioner Buck moved to approve said standard form and authorize the Chair and the Department of Human Services to sign agreements consistent with said form. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Ross and it carried unanimously. Public Comment: 1 . Steve Teets, City of Greeley resident, offered his comments to the Board with response from Chair James. Let the Minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Clerk to the Board. There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:17 a.m. The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, approved the above and foregoing Minutes, on motion duly made and seconded, by the following vote on the 26th day of January, A.D., 2026: Scott K.
