Approve Assignments of Commissioners to Coordinate Departments for 2026
Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
Whereas, pursuant to Section 3-6 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, each of the
major departments of County government, as established by Article IV of said Charter,
shall be coordinated by one Commissioner with assistance from other Commissioners,
and
Whereas, the Board deems it advisable to appoint the Commissioners to coordinate
departments as follows:
Department of Finance and Administration
Coordinator: Scott K. James, Chair
Chief Financial Officer (Finance) /Accounting / Purchasing /Treasurer
Clerk to the Board
County Attorney
Human Resources (Administration)
Public Information Office
Department of Health Services
Coordinator: Jason S. Maxey, Pro-Tern
Coroner's Office
Information Technology
Justice Services
Office of Emergency Management
Public Safety Communications
Department of Planning Services
Coordinator: Lynette Peppler
Oil and Gas Energy
Extension Office
Department of Public Works
Coordinator: Kevin D. Ross
Facilities
Fleet Services
Department of Human Services
Coordinator: Perry L. Buck
Veterans Services

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the Commissioners be, and hereby are, assigned as coordinators of the
departments as hereinabove set forth, all in accordance with Section 3-6 of the
Weld County Home Rule Charter.
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, adopted the above
and foregoing Resolution, on motion duly made and seconded, by the following vote on
the 5th day of January, A.D., 2026:
