To the Weld County Commissioners;
We, the officers and employees of the Weld County Sheriff's
Department, request placement on the agenda of the December 13, 1982
9:00 am meeting.
There are several questions we would like to pose to the com-
missioners that have come to light since the new pay and benefit plan
was presented by the Personnel Director on December 9, 1982.
The questions are but not limited to the following:
1. Why must we sign up for benefits before the booklets explaining
those benefits arrive?
2. Why will the county not support any self insurance programs by
the employees?
3. What law is it that provides secrecy for organizations providing
information used in the wage scale?
4. Why is the Sheriff's Office compared to private security guards?
5. Has the county ever made any other adjustments to the wage scale
such as the 2% taken from the wages this year?
6. Will we be double covered for the month January and whose responsi-
bility is it for excess premiums?
These are a representive list of the questions we have.
