BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REVIEW/WORK SESSION REQUEST RE: Work Order for FHU—Environmental Clearances for 2007 Bridge Replacements DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS DATE: June 5,2006 PERSON REQUESTING: Perry Eisenach,P.E., Engineering Division Manager y Brief description of the problem/issue: The attached Work Order for FHU in the amount of$49,900 would authorize Darcy Tiglas to complete the necessary environmental work and clearances required for the eight (8)bridge replacements currently scheduled to be completed by County crews in FY2007. These environmental clearances must be completed before construction begins. What options exist for the Board? (Include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options) Option#1: Approve the work order. This approval would allow for the environmental clearances to be completed in time for County crews to begin the bridge replacements for FY2007. Option #2: Not approve the work order. This could delay County crews in beginning the FY2007 bridge replacements under their current schedule. Recommendation to the Board: Public Works recommends approval of this Work Order and requests signature on the enclosed Exhibit "A" Work Order form. Thank you for your consideration.
