MEMORANDUM
TO: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration
DATE: August 22, 2006
FROM: Jeffrey J. Jerome
Operations Division Manager
SUBJECT: Equipment Proposal with Colorado Machinery
I have received another proposal from Colorado Machinery requesting they be allowed to replace
two of their leased motorgraders with two leased 2007 772D motor graders that are identical in
capability and options.
Colorado Machinery offers to do the following:
1. The two new 772D's will be ordered in identically to the two that are turned in.
2. Two weeks prior to the delivery date we will communicate with Jeff Jerome so Weld County
can begin getting their two rollover 772D's ready for the exchange.
3. The two new 772D's will inherit the remaining terms after one year in existence as specified in
Weld County's bid specs No. B0500161 dated 5 May 2005.
4. Colorado Machinery will pay 100% for the 100 hour after sale inspection on both units.
5. Colorado Machinery will pay for all travel time &mileage & labor during first 12 months of
new ownership for warranty work requested per bid spec.
6. Colorado Machinery will get Deere Leasing to do a collateral swap removing the two one year
old 772D's and replacing them with the two new ones less remaining approximate two year lease
balance still owed by Weld County.
7. Colorado Machinery will swap lights, tires, cutting edges, ripper and scarifier teeth, from one
year old 772D's over to new 772D's.
Weld County agrees to swap the slope meters and Henke lift groups and spare tires from one year
old 772D's to new 772D's.
This proposal is similar to the one accepted and accomplished in 2004.
