RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF PORTIONS OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 17 FOR THE 2006 OVERLAY
PROJECT
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof
for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project
completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure
establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of
the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,deems it necessary to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads
and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control
devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the
safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado,does declare and establish that Weld County Road 17 between Weld County Roads 38
and 40 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective March 20, 2006, for approximately
five working days for the 2006 Overlay Project, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 17 between Weld County Roads 36
and 38 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective March 27, 2006,for approximately
five working days for the 2006 Overlay Project, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

and 36 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective April 3,2006,for approximately ten
working days for the 2006 Overlay Project,and further, that standard official traffic control devices
shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado,does declare and establish that Weld County Road 17 between Weld County Roads 32
and 34 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective April 24,2006,for approximately ten
working days for the 2006 Overlay Project,and further,that standard official traffic control devices
shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 13th day of March, A.D., 2006.

SUBJECT: Agenda Items
WCR 17 between WCR 32 and WCR 34 will be closed from 4/24/2006 to 5/5/2006 for the Overlay
Project 2006, install a 24-inch culvert, and two 5-foot arch culverts.
WCR 17 between WCR 34 and WCR 36 will be closed on 4/3/2006 to 4/14/2006 for the Overlay
Project 2006, install one 36-inch culvert, and two-18-inch culverts.
WCR17 between WCR 36 and WCR 38 will be closed from 3/27/2006 to 3/31/2006 for the Overlay
Project 2006, install an 18-inch culvert.
WCR 17 between WCR 38 and WCR 40 will be closed from 3/20/2006 to 3/24/2006 for the Overlay
Project 2006 to install a 48-inch culvert.
