The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 28, 2006, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner David E. Long, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke - EXCUSED
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Glenn Vaad - EXCUSED
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Elizabeth Strong
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Long moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of August 23, 2006, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $16,443.95 . Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO CHILD AND ADULT PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL
SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY: Judy Griego, Director of
Social Services, stated the major purposes of the amendment are to reflect changes in assistant County
Attorneys and associated costs. She stated the total cost is$341,294.09. Commissioner Long moved to
approve said amendment. Seconded by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 2.000, SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Ms. Griego stated the revisions are for the section of the manual related
to translation services provided by Employment Services. She further stated Employment Services
provides translation services for families involved in the child welfare system to assist caseworkers in
investigations of child abuse and neglect. She stated the Department agrees to reimburse Employment
Services in an amount not to exceed$5,000.00, at a staff rate of$25.00 per hour. Commissioner Masden
moved to approve said revision. Seconded by Commissioner Long, the motion carried unanimously.

by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:12 a.m.
