HUDSON GAME ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS HELD IN DENVER
July 27, 1953
Pursuant to call and proper waiver of notice a meeting of the shareholders
of Hudsone Game Association was held at 12:00 M in the $enver Club. The
following were present:
Bill Broderick
Clarence Manion
Hal Writer
Jerry Peters
Vincent Jones
Bun Gordon
The following were out of town and could not attend:
Bill Geddes
The meeting was called to order by Vincent K. Jones, President who called
upon Bill Broderick to explain the deal he had with our neighbor, Roop,
when the club paid for gravelling the road leading south to our lake.
The substance of that agreement was that if we would gravel She road
so that it could be used in wet weather Roop would install a gate at
the north approach to the road and a cattleguard et the south end and
that the roadway would he treated as a private road.
Jones then stated that he had talked several times with Roop and Harvey
Shearston about that road and that by agreement between Shearston and
Rooa they had thrown all of their wishes together and had tied it into
the purchase we had been negotiating with Shearston which had in effect
put the squeeze on the club to the effect that if we wanted to purchase .
the triangle in the northwest corner of our lake which had bees originally
leased from the predecessors of Shearston we woukd have to throw in with
Shearston and Roop and petition the County to take over the reed as a
county road. It was presumed that a good sign could be erected at the
north end of the road to show that it is a "DEAD END RCAD" in order to
keep people from running down to the lake during the duck season;
turning around and scaring off all of the ducks that might intend to
come into the lake.
After a lot of discussion it was agreed that in any event, we must do every
thing in our power to make a good neighbor and inasmuch as we only were
interested in the road for about three weeks in each yearn ao d xurPngihboa sJ
must use it throughout the year, it was duly carried 6 votes tog lA fiatur o
Secretary be instructed to furnish a copy of these minutes to Mr. Anderson
one of the County Commissioners to represent the wishes of the Club.
The election of officers to serve until their successors are qualified was
duly held and Done Brown was elected President; Hal Writer as Treasurer and
Vince Jones as Ryas Secretary. he • sting was thereupon adjourned.
