HomeMy WebLinkAbout20062342.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL, SECTION 2.000, SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with revisions to Section 2.000, Social Services Division Policies and Procedures, for the Department of Social Services Operations Manual, and WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said revisions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the revisions to Section 2.000, Social Services Division Policies and Procedures for the Department of Social Services Operations Manual, be, and hereby are, approved. SidiRE: Revisions to Section 2.000, Social Services'Division Policies and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual Enclosed for Board approval are revisions to Section 2.000, Social Services Division Policies and Procedures,Weld County DepaitHnent of Social Services Operations Manual. These revisions were reviewed at the Board's Work Session held on August 21, 2006. The purpose of this revision to Section 2.620, Translation Services Provided by Employment Services,is to update its reimbursement period and rate with Employment Services, Weld County Division of Human Services. Employment Services provides translation services for those families involved in the child welfare system by assisting case workers in their investigations of child abuse and neglect. For the period ending December 31, 2006, the Department agrees to reimburse Employment Services an amount not to exceed $5,000 at a staff rate of$25 per hour. Reference: Sections 2.620 through 2.260.3. If you have any questions,please telephone me at extension 6510. • 2006-2342 Social Services Division Policies and Procedures 2.620 Translation Services Provided by Employment Services 2.620.1 Purpose of Translation Services The Department will use Employment Services translation services anytime a staff member is in need of translation of a language in which the staff member is not fluent in. 2.620.2 Scheduling of Translation Services Employment Services will create a schedule of available translators for a whole month or more in advance. This schedule will be given to the Department prior to the beginning of the month is which the schedule is for. Department staff members are to contract the translator for the date, time, and location of the needed translation. 2.620.3 Reimbursement Authority from the Department to Employment Services The Department will remit to Employment Services and amount not to exceed $5,000 for the period ending December 31, 2006. The funding source will be child welfare administration dollars. Employment Services will bill the Department on a monthly basis. The hourly cost including salary and benefits will be $25 an hour. The hourly rate will start once the translator leaves Employment Services and will end once the translator returns to Employment Services. If the translator does not return to Employment Services after the translation services have been completed, the hours will end once the translation services have been completed. Mileage will be reimbursed at the approved County mileage reimbursement rate and will only be paid for services outside of the Greeley area. Mileage will start once outside Greeley city limits and will end once inside Greeley city limits. Employment Services agrees to bill the Department once a month. The bill will be sent to the Child Welfare Administrator or his or her designee. The bill will include, but not limited to the date of service, the number of hours used for translation services, the number of miles traveled (if applicable), the caseworkers name who requested the translation, and the client(s) name that the translation services were used for.
