HomeMy WebLinkAbout20060590.tiff RESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING LETTER OF AGREEMENT FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with a Letter of Agreement for County Employee Volunteers from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, to authorize the usage of personnel from non-critical services to assist the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment in the event of a public health emergency, and WHEREAS, a hearing before the Board was held on the 28th day of December, 2005, at which time the Board deemed it necessary to continue said matter to February 1, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., and WHEREAS, at said hearing on the 1st day of February, 2006, the Board deemed it necessary to continue the matter to March 1, 2006, at 9:00 a.m., to allow time for discussion between the Department of Public Health and Environment and the Department of Personnel, and WHEREAS, at said hearing on the 1st day of March, 2006, after review, the Board deems it advisable to refer said matter back to the Department of Public Health and Environment to incorporate the matter into the County's Personnel Policy,thereby continuing the matter indefinitely. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Letter of Agreement for County Employee Volunteers from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment,and various employee volunteers be, and hereby is, referred back to the Department of Public Health and Environment, and is, therefore, continued indefinitely. COLORADO The Board of County Commissioners for Weld County, State of Colorado, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment(hereinafter referred to as "WCDPHE"),agree to authorize the usage of personnel employed by Weld County from non-critical services, by the WCDPHE in the event of a public health emergency. This letter is provided in support of local public health preparedness plans to dispense the Strategic National Stockpile assets to the citizens of Weld County during a man-made or naturally occurring public health emergency,where rapid prophylaxis of the population is essential to prevent disease and save lives. Weld County employees assisting in a public health emergency will be provided with protective equipment and prophylaxis prior to dispensing to the public. The WCDPHE also agrees to ensure,to the best of their ability,the safety of these employees during the response.
