I didn't think Carter& Bugress would have the guts to tell it the way it is. Your lack of judgment in your policies related to promoting scattered urban density development in southwest Weld has been repeatedly been brought to your attention. Your actions which only benefited [sic?] a few local landowners are paving the way for chaotic conditions in the future. The ony rationale I could find for your policy was some ill-conceived notion of individual property rights for development - the highest [most profitable] use for large property owners, but at the same time, not the best use in the interests of the general population of southwest Weld. This faulted policy was presaged by the recommendations of your appointed committee, the majority of which had personal interests in development, which were approved by the then Board, some of whom were yourselves, changing the bias of the comprehensive plan toward growth, and unplanned growth at that.. Let's hope that you have the integrity to face up to your mistaken policies, take corrective action and not stubbornly bury your heads in the sand. The article reports that you may be considering discontinuing the study, conceivably because the findings are not to your liking. Unfortunately, this does auger well for the hope of your reconsidering your policies. John Folsom PS: I don't know if your contract with Carter& Burgiss contains provisions for substantiation of their billings. If it does, you might want an accounting of$130,000 charges through March.
