As you are aware, DEFS has recently determined that it is necessary to expand the footprint of the plant. Therefore, DEFS is taking the facility through the amended USR process. Details concerning the expansion have been previously submitted to the County in connection with such application. DEFS respectfully requests that you allow an early release of building permits for this site. DEFS acknowledges that it may need to alter or modify its plans in the event the Board of Commissioners determines any changes are necessary, and all construction is at its own risk, including the risk of substantial economic loss. However, it is critical that the permits be released as soon as possible to allow DEFS to timely complete the project. Over the past five years. I believe DEFS has consistently fulfilled each commitment it has made to the County. Thank you again for your careful consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
