WELD COUNTY, COLORADO

The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, January 25, 2006, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner David E. Long, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Jenny VanEgdom
Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Long moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of January 23, 2006, as printed. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of$23,830.39. Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDERCHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICESANDAUTHORIZECHAIRTO SIGN-
UNIVERSITYPHYSICIANS,INC.: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,stated the agreement is fora
child specific case, and University Physicians will be reimbursed at the rate of $132.00 per day for
therapeutic and preschool services. She stated the term of the agreement is December 1, 2005, through
May 31,2006,and the services provided will prevent the child from being placed into residential treatment.
In response to Commissioner Jerke, Ms. Griego stated the child is registered within the Child Welfare
System,and will receive educational as well as therapeutic counseling,with parental involvement. Further
responding to Commissioner Jerke,Ms.Griego stated the child has significant issues. Commissioner Vaad
moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Long,the
motion carried unanimously.

CONSIDER REVISIONS TO OPERATIONS MANUAL,SECTION 2.000, SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Ms. Griego stated the policy revisions provide a cost of living increase
of three percent for basic maintenance costs for County Certified Foster Care Providers,and the funds will
be provided through Child Welfare Administration funds. Ms.Griego stated the policy revisions also provide
for reimbursement to the Department of Human Services, and the Department of Public Health and
Environment. She stated the Departments provide supervised visitation services for families in the Child
Welfare System. She further stated the Department of Human Services will be reimbursed at a rate of
$18.10 per hour, and the Department of Public Health and Environment will be reimbursed at a rate of
$15.56 per hour. Commissioner Long moved to approve said revisions. Seconded by Commissioner
Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
