HomeMy WebLinkAbout20061742.tiff RESOLUTION RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 41 (1ST AVENUE)BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 64 (O STREET)AND 62 (C STREET) FOR SIX WEEKS, FOR INSTALLATION OF A SEWER LINE WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.: "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to through traffic orto all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting signs thereon. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,deems it necessary to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 41 (1st Avenue) between Weld County Roads 64(O Street)and 62(C Street)be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective July 10, 2006,for approximately six weeks for the installation of a sewer line, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. 2006-1742 p EG0024 (r0 '. 1 ti)1 CO, CS/° �<, i .{'E ROAD CLOSURE -WCR 41 (1ST AVENUE) PAGE 2 The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of June, A.D., 2006. FROM: Ted Eyl COLORADO SUBJECT: Road Closure for WCR 41 (1s`Ave) from WCR 64 (O St.) to WCR 62 (C St.) This is a road closure to be submitted to the BOCC for the 6/28/06 agenda. GLH Construction is requesting the closure of WCR 41 (15t Ave) from WCR 64 (O St.)to WCR 62 (C St.) for the installation of an 18" Sewer line for Swift& Company. The road will be closed twice for a total of 6 days from the period of July 10, 2006 to August 21, 2006. The project will take place in two phases. The first phase will have the road closed for a period of 3 to 4 days to place the sewer line in Weld County ROW. The second phase will be to tie the new line to the existing line at C Street& 1st Avenue. Swift & Company will have to close the slaughter plant for this phase to take place. GLH Construction will coordinate with Swift as to when they will shut down their plant. This will be determined at a later date. Variable message boards will be put up one week prior to both road closures. The detour route will on Balsom Avenue from WCR 64 to WCR 62. GLH has agreed to put a dust suppressant in front of all houses on the detour route.
