He stated he has spoken with the District, and an alternative has been agreed upon. In response to Commissioner Masden, Mr.Venditto stated the cryogenic recycling process involves placing an old tire into the shredder, and grinding it down into a primary shred. He stated it is then run through a secondary shredder, which removes 90 percent of the wire within the tire. He further stated the tire matter is introduced through a feed system into a cryogenic freeze tunnel, and the rubber is placed into a liquid nitrogen bath. Mr.Venditto stated the matter is then dropped into a hammermill, which shatters the rubber into fine particles, the particles are then screened, sized, and loaded into sacks. He stated once the sacks are full, they are made ready for shipping to athletic turf fields. Commissioner Vaad stated he does not have reservations about the recycling process. The Board agreed to modifying Development Standard#17 to include an acceptable alternative by the Platteville/Gilcrest Fire Protection District. In response to Chair Geile, Mr.Venditto stated he has reviewed, and concurs with, the Conditions of Approval and Development Standards, and proposed and modified. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
