RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 28 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 43
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that stop signs be installed on Weld County Road 28 at Weld County Road 43,to ensure safety to
the traveling public, and
WHEREAS,the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for the
protection of the general public.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install stop
signs on Weld County Road 28 at Weld County Road 43, for the safety of the general public, and
said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 12th day of June, A.D., 2006.

COLORADO RE: Intersection Signing of WCR 28 and WCR 43
A signing request was received from Roy Wardell concerning the uncontrolled intersection referenced.
Mr. Wardell is concerned about the limited sight distance and lack of traffic signing. I telephoned Mr.
Wardell to discuss the details. He believes that the traffic at the intersection is too high to not have stop
signs.
I have looked into the traffic counts and find that recent counts are above 200 ADT in each direction.
There is a home with outbuildings in the NW corner of the intersection creating sight restrictions. In my
opinion, the request is reasonable and I am recommending that we install a Stop Sign on WCR 28 per
MUTCD guidelines.
