RESOLUTION
RE: AUTHORIZE EXTENSION OF OIL AND GAS LEASE COVERING CERTAIN PROPERTY
OWNED BY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO - NW1/4, S12, T7N, R64W
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County is the owner of vast mineral lands located in Weld County,
Colorado, and
WHEREAS, EnCana Oil and Gas (USA) Inc., submitted a request to extend the lease of
160 net mineral acres, more or less, described to-wit:
NW1/4 of Section 12, Township 7 North, Range 64
West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,Weld County desires to approve the request submitted by EnCana Oil and Gas
(USA) Inc., to extend the lease on the above-described mineral acreage for$10.00 per net mineral
acre, for a total sum of $1,600.00, together with a rental fee of one dollar($1.00) per net mineral
acre, which is to run for a period of six (6) months, commencing November 5, 2006, and ending
May 5, 2007, and
WHEREAS,Weld County desires to approve the request submitted by EnCana Oil and Gas
(USA) Inc.,to extend the lease on the above-described mineral acreage for$10.00 per net mineral
acre, for a total sum of$1,600.00, together with a rental fee of one dollar($1.00) per net mineral
acres, which is to run for a period of six (6) months, commencing November 5, 2006, and ending
May 5, 2007, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the request submitted by EnCana Oil and Gas (USA) Inc., to extend the
lease on the above-described mineral acreage for$10.00 per net mineral acre, for a total sum of
$1,600.00, together with a rental fee of one dollar($1.00) per net mineral acres,which is to run for
a period of six (6) months, commencing November 5, 2006, and ending May 5, 2007, be, and
hereby is, granted and approved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the request submitted by EnCana Oil and Gas (USA) Inc., to extend the lease on
the above-described mineral acreage for$10.00 per net mineral acre,for a total sum of$1,600.00,
together with a rental fee of one dollar($1.00) per net mineral acre, which is to run for a period of
six (6) months, commencing commencing November 5, 2006, and ending May 5, 2007, be, and
hereby is, granted and approved, with said amount to be paid to the Weld County Clerk to the
Board within ten (10) days from the date of approval by the Weld County Board of County
Commissioners.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 16th day of October, A.D., 2006.

Gentlemen:
Pursuant to paragraph 24 of the referenced oil and gas lease, EnCana Oil & Gas (USA)
Inc., would like to extend the primary term of the Lease for an additional six month
period beginning November 5, 2006. Enclosed herewith is EnCana's check in the
amount of$1760.00 which represents one-third of the original bonus (or$10.00
minimum per acre),plus the $160.00 annual rental.
