RE: APPROVE REVISION TO OPERATIONS MANUAL,SECTION 11.000,COMPUTER AND
EQUIPMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Department of Social Services has presented a revision to the Operations
Manual, Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures, to the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County, for consideration and approval, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said revision, a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services,that the revisions to the Operations Manual,
Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures for the Department of Social
Services be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 30th day of October, A.D., 2006.

and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services
Operations Manual
Enclosed for Board approval is an addition to Section 11.000, Computer and Equipment Policies
and Procedures, Weld County Department of Social Services Operations Manual. This addition
was reviewed at the Board's Work Session held on October 23, 2006.
The addition is Section 11.500, Accurint Software. This new section describes the
Accurint Software, which is a web-based software program that allows the Department to
access additional public and non-public information to help prevent client fraud by
locating client's income, assets and household composition. It also sets policy and
procedures regarding which staff will have access to such software and it usage.

Computer and Equipment Policies and Procedures
11.500 Accurint Softward
Accurint is a web-based software program that allows the Department to access additional public
and non-public information to help prevent client fraud by locating client's income, assets and
household composition.
11.501 Accurint Access
The Department will give access to the following three staff members:.
A. Child Support Technician
B. Assistance Payments Lead Investigator or his/her designee
C. Common Support Clerk III
11.502 Usage of Accurint in the Department
Accurint will be used by the Department to include, but not limited to, the following:
A. Identify any asset(s) in another state, income, household members(s)that may be living
with the client, drivers license information,judgments, addresses, bankruptcies, deceased
information,etc.
B. Every tenth new applicant for any CBMS programs, except for Family Medicaid only,
will be screened through this software by the Common Support Clerk III. This
information will be given to the eligibility technician to crosscheck the information put on
the application with the information that is extracted from Accurint. If Accurint has
different information than what is on the application,the technician will ask the client for
further verification based on the information obtained from Accurint without showing
them or telling them where they obtained it from. This may also constitute a referral to
investigations.
