RE: ITEMIZED LIST OF LEGAL HOLIDAYS DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2007
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,following is a list of holidays proposed for 2007 as days off for Weld County
employees:
New Year's Day Monday, January 1, 2007
Washington/Lincoln Day Monday, February 19, 2007
Memorial Day Monday, May 28, 2007
Independence Day Wednesday, July 4, 2007
Labor Day Monday, September 3, 2007
Veterans Day Monday, November 12, 2007
Thanksgiving Thursday, November 22, 2007,
and Friday, November 23, 2007
(replaces King's Birthday)
Christmas Monday, December 24, 2007
(replaces Columbus Day), and
Tuesday, December 25, 2007
New Year's Day (2008) Monday, December 31, 2007
(replaces Colorado Day)
FLOATING HOLIDAYS
Sheriffs Department (Court Personnel) -- Will follow holiday schedule as set by
State of Colorado.
District Attorney-- November 23, and December 24, and December 31, 2007.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that the list of holidays as set forth above shall be observed during the calendar
year of 2007 as days off for Weld County employees.

COLORADO SUBJECT: 2007 County Holidays
Attached is the proposed schedule of holidays for calendar year 2007, as well as the rules for
choosing the appropriate days. Most of the days are pretty straight forward; however, there are
some options regarding the use of Colorado Day. We can include it with Independence Day, and
since it falls directly in the middle of the week, I would recommend taking the Thursday after the
holiday,since many are out late for fireworks and activities on the 4th. The second option would be
to use it on Monday, December 31, 2007, to coincide with New Year's Day in 2008.
Please let me know which option you would prefer, and if you have any additional recommended
changes.
