RE: APPOINTMENT OF JOHN LEFEBVRE, JR. AS WELD COUNTY TREASURER
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,Section 6-1 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter was amended by the Weld
County voters on November 8, 2001, making the office of the County Treasurer appointed by the
Board of Weld County Commissioners, effective January 1, 2003, and
WHEREAS,on October 7,2002,the Weld County Treasurer's Office was placed under the
Division of the Finance and Administration, and
WHEREAS,the current Treasurer, Donald Mueller, has announced that he will retire on,or
before, February 28, 2007, and
WHEREAS,the Director of Finance has recommended that John Lefebvre,Jr.,be appointed
as Weld County Treasurer, concurrent with the retirement of Donald Mueller, and
WHEREAS,the Director of Finance and Administration has further recommended that John
Lefebvre, Jr., begin employment with Weld County on January 1, 2007, to ensure a smooth
transition of the Treasurer's functions.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County that, John Lefebvre, Jr. be, and hereby is, appointed as the Weld County Treasurer,
concurrent with the retirement of Donald Mueller, on, or before, February 28, 2007.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 20th day of December, A.D., 2006.
