RE: RATIFICATION OF APPOINTMENTS AND REAPPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES FOR THE WELD COUNTY LIBRARY DISTRICT
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Weld Library District has been created by action of six municipalities,Weld
County School District RE-8, and the County of Weld, all of the State of Colorado, and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 24-90-110(4)(a), C.R.S.,the selection committee for the
Weld Library District Board of Trustees has been appointed and has recommended thatJacqueline
Maslowe, and Lucile Arnusch, be appointed to the Weld Library District Board of Trustees, with
terms to expire December 31, 2011,and that Brian Larson be reappointed to said board,with a term
to expire December 31, 2011, and
WHEREAS,said individuals appear to be qualified to serve as members of the Board of
Trustees and represent adequately the various interests within the Weld Library District.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the appointment of Jacqueline Maslowe, and Lucile Arnusch, and the
reappointment of Brian Larson, to the Weld Library District Board of Trustees be, and hereby is,
ratified.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 1st day of November A.D., 2006.

Dear Chairman Geile:
In accordance with the state law, a Nominating Committee composed of one member from each creating
jurisdiction must select library district board members; and then each jurisdiction must ratify the
selection by resolution. This year Brian Larson from Greeley was nominated to a second term on the
Board of Trustees by the Nominating Committee and will represent Area 4: Greeley/Evans/Garden City.
The Nominating Committee also nominated Jacqueline B. Maslowe of Johnstown to represent Area 3:
Mead/Johnstown/Milliken/Berthoud and Lucile C. Arnusch of Keenesburg to the at-large seat. Each
nominee is to serve a five-year term on the Weld Library District Board of Trustees. They will be taking
the seats vacated by Margery Curtiss who will have completed two five-year terms, and thusly term
limited, on December 31, 2006; and Janine Freeman who will have completed one five-year term on
December 31, 2006.
Since it is necessary for all member jurisdictions to ratify the nomination of the committee, a sample
resolution is provided. You are encouraged to consider the resolution as soon as possible so the Library
District is not without full representation on the Board. A copy of your resolution should be sent to me
at the Weld Library District, 1939 6151 Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634, once acted upon by your Board.
Any governmental unit which does not respond to the request to ratify within sixty(60) days is deemed
to have assented to the appointment of the nominee.

MASLOWE AND LUCILE C. ARNUSCH TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE WELD
LIBRARY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld Library District has been created by action of six municipalities, Weld
County School District Re-8, and the County of Weld, all of the State of Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to CRS, S24-90-110(4) (a), the selection committee for the Weld Library
District Board of Trustees has been appointed and has recommended the following persons for
appointment to the Weld Library District Board of Trustees:
Brian C. Larson - term to expire December 31, 2011
Jacqueline B. Maslowe—term to expire December 31, 2011
Lucile C. Arnusch —term to expire December 31,2011
WHEREAS, this person appears to be qualified to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees
and represent adequately the various interests within the Weld Library District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the appointment of Brian C. Larson, Jacqueline B. Maslowe and Lucile C.
